Our instructors make all the difference at FTFF, they keep the community going.

LISA HOUCK

Lisa Houck is the owner of Full Throttle Fitness Factory.  She is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor.  Lisa is certified with AAAI, AFFA and ACE for group fitness and is also an AAAI certified group fitness instructor and has a Sports Nutrition certification.  Additionally, she is certified to teach Pop Pilates, Piloxing®, Indo-Row®, Indoor Cycling and Yoga.

Fitness and nutrition became a passion for Lisa in 2006.  One day, Lisa was doing the laundry and while carrying laundry up a flight of steps, needed to stop and take a rest to catch her breath.  Her body was hurting from the excess weight she was carrying and she was not comfortable in her own skin.

Through diet and exercise, Lisa ultimately lost over 100 lbs.  As she began her exercise plight, she took group fitness classes and “hid” in the back row.  She noticed that many instructors did not pay much attention to the back row and was even asked, do you think you will make it through this class? This fueled Lisa to get certified and make a difference, to lead classes where EVERYONE is welcome!

After a few years, Lisa realized that she wanted more, to help people thrive in their journey to being more fit.  She wanted to work where the people are the priority, not how many members signed up, if they would become personal training clients or upgrade their memberships.  It was at this point she started Full Throttle Fitness Factory.  On September 23rd, 2011 the doors to FTFF opened and a family of like-minded individuals began to form.  Today, our members are a family and we are always looking to add to it.  Come give FTFF a try!  We are all about Peace, Love and Fitness!

 LYNDON SHADE

Lyndon Shade, is a certified Indo-Row® Instructor and has received his Primary Aerobic Instructor Certification from AAAI/ISMA. My reason to join a gym was to lose weight and feel better about my self image, I quickly realized Full Throttle Fitness Factory was more than just a gym, it became my gym family. All the group fitness classes they offer encourage you to have fun, and are super friendly and encourage all fitness levels. I tell you it is a gym where “everyone knows your name”. Rowing is my addiction and I encourage everyone I meet to try rowing, it is low impact, builds your cardio as well as 9 major muscle groups, and the group class allows all fitness levels to work out together in a high energy class that is totally controlled by the individual. I grew up in the Hamburg area and I am a service manger for a local copier/printer company for 30 years and have 2 furry kids and enjoy golfing.

MARY McHALE

Mary McHale is a native of Berks County.  She graduated from Central Catholic High School and Alvernia University.  She earned a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant, specializing in Wound Care and outpatient Physical Therapy.  Having this background, fostered with her love for fitness, Mary was inspired to pursue a certification from AAAI in Aerobics Fitness Certification.  Fitness has always been a huge part of her life.

Many years ago, Mary started attending rowing classes at FTFF. Her relationship with FTFF was love at first sight. She was drawn to FTFF because it was like no other gym she had ever been to.  It wasn’t long until Mary was enrolled at FTFF for all of her fitness needs, including other classes and personal training.  After some time as a client, Mary decided to join the Full Throttle Team.  You can find her leading classes in cycling, rowing, and other group classes

Mary enjoys spending time outside of FTFF with family and friends.  If you cannot find her at any of the above places, she is probably at home with her furry kids, Brodey, Piper, and Greyson, her fun-loving cat.  Last but not least, Mary has grown to love FTFF for not only fitness, but for the feeling of family it offers.  She has also stated that none of this would be possible without her loving and supportive spouse, Sue.
